On Purnima, "Satyanarayan Vrat Katha" is performed. Among the kathas that are prevalent, ‘Shri Satyanarayan Vrat Katha’ is the most popular. Satyanarayana vrat is the easiest and most inexpensive way of self-purification and self-surrender at the lotus feet of Hari.

One who observes Purnima with full devotion and faith is sure to attain his heart’s desire. Our shastras state that during the ‘Kalyug,’ the fruit that one gets by hearing the ‘Satyanarayan Katha’ is enormous. The katha is dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his manifestation as Lord Satyanarayan. ‘Satya’ means truth, ‘Nar’ means a man and ‘Ayan’ means a place. Thus the place where truth resides in man is called Satyanarayan. The ‘Satyanarayan katha’ and the ‘vrat’ help us overcome vices like lust, anger, greed, attachments and ego

Havan is an age-old sacred ritual to propitiate various deities using the sacred fire as a medium for the attainment of various wishes and boons in the
materialistic and the spiritual worlds.

We do Havan to dispel the negative energies from our minds and to destroy negative life patterns.

Havan also brings high energies into our minds and body thereby paving way for the positive thoughts, actions etc. to enter into our life. They help in re-vitalizing the three energies in our body (Vata, Pitta and Kapha) and help in maintaining the energy balance.

Havan also helps in propitiation of deities responsible for the attainment of various virtues and prosperity and help in fulfillment of materialistic and physical needs.

Havan is a religious ceremony performed in Mandirs and in homes that involves worship through the use of a sacred fire. The use of fire as a means of worship is the most ancient of all rites, going back to the earliest Vedic times. This fire ritual is described in elaborate detail in the Brahmanas. From the earliest of Vedic times and even to present day, fire (Agni) was viewed as the chief of the Gods. In fact, the first verse of the Rig Veda is addressed to Agni, the fire God. "I praise Agni, the chosen Priest, God, minister of scarifice…"
